Tom Aikens and Mohammad Orfali to cook up special menu at Pots, Pans and Boards
Pots, Pans & Boards, the popular British restaurant on The Beach, is set to combine the flavours of British and Middle Eastern cuisine into one unique menu when Michelin star chef Tom Aikens and Fatafeat’s Mohammad Orfali put their craft together on 10 February for a one-off event that is sure to whet the appetite of any foodie in Dubai.
Tom Aikens is the youngest British chef to be awarded two Michelin stars. He received the honour at the age of 26during his five-year stint at London’s Pied à Terre.
Syrian-born Mohammad Orfali specialises in Aleppiancuisine, as well as contemporary Arabic cuisine, and is the leading Arab proponent of molecular gastronomy. He is also credited with hosting the Middle East’s first Arabic gastronomy cooking show, Our Arabic Kitchen(Matbakhna Al Arabi), which airs on the Middle East’s leading food channel, Fatafeat.
Pots, Pans & Boards – the restaurant that Aikens opened in 2015 – will bring the two celebrity chefs together for a gastronomic collision of a menu that you don’t want to miss out on. After the one-night-only cooking event, where invited media will get an exclusive first tasting of the menu, Pots, Pans & Boards will run the menu through to 24 February.
The special menu aptly titled ‘Where East Meets West’ includes dishes such as charred mackerel, salmon Tajin, a mild curried chicken ballotine, and ORF Baklava with salted pistachio cream flavoured with a citrusy burst of orange blossom.
